About Brisbane Youth Service

Since 1977, Brisbane Youth Service (BYS) has been supporting young people (aged 12 to 25) who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Brisbane and surrounding areas.

Today, we work with around 3,000 young people and their children each year – offering early intervention and wraparound support to break the cycle of homelessness into adulthood.

Why we need you

In Queensland, 37% of people experiencing homelessness are under 25.1 Young people are being disproportionately affected by the housing crisis. They're often overlooked for accommodation, facing limited options and a critical shortage of social housing.

But your support can change that. By acting today, you can help provide the stability, care, and opportunity young people need to grow, connect, and build more hopeful futures.

More young people than ever before are reaching out for support – and we need to be ready to respond when they do. You can help us be there for more young people when it matters most.

With the help from BYS, I was able to move on in life as they helped me build the foundation to get me started in life. As a single mother with a 3 year old child, I now have a very secure job which I’ve had for almost 2.5 years, I secured private rental housing and I have a stable income.
